Tyrannosaurus RexMember6270 XPAug-08-2013 3:37 PMDoes anyone else think that Metriacanthosurus could/should make an appearance in Jurassic Park 4? Personally I think that it should because it's name appeared in the scene were Nedry was stealing the embryos in the first movie.

Not sure how legit this picture is, but Metri appears on here too.

I know that Metriacanthosaurus isn't as catchy as Velociraptor or T-Rex, but I think it should appear at some point in the movie.

CompsognathusMember0 XPAug-08-2013 3:46 PMI can see that happening. I would like to see one of them make a small appearance, like the one of Dilophosaurus. Maybe killing somebody.
Hi
CompsognathusMember0 XPAug-08-2013 3:58 PMThe picture is legit; I just watched Jurassic Park. I agree with you both, and I think Metri could very well be JackHorner's "terrifying" new dinosaur.

Tyrannosaurus RexMember6270 XPAug-08-2013 4:01 PMEspecially if they re-use the "T-Rex is a scavenger" theory.

CompsognathusMember0 XPAug-08-2013 4:51 PMI hate that theory.
Anyways, I think it's either going to be Metri or Carno "competing" for the role of minor predator with T-rex and Raptors maintaining their hold on the main predator spot.

CompsognathusMember0 XPAug-08-2013 6:34 PMDid anyone else notice Stegosaurus was misspelled?
Also, by Metriacanthosaurus they meant Yangchuanosaurus because Yangchuanosaurus was at the time considered a species of Metriacanthosaurus.

Tyrannosaurus RexMember6270 XPAug-08-2013 6:54 PMI noticed that Stegosaurus was misspelled, and so was Tyrannosaurus. Yang or Metri, either would be cool.

CompsognathusMember0 XPAug-08-2013 7:13 PMNeither are big enough to fill the role as "super predator," but would make for a great minor one.
MrHappy, I love that video. BTW, did anyone notice how they said
T-rex may be the largest land predator ever? Score 1 for me, haha

CompsognathusMember0 XPAug-08-2013 8:23 PMCertainly a fearsome predator...

CompsognathusMember0 XPAug-09-2013 10:00 AMYangchuanosaurus was heavier than Allosaurus fragilis, and just as long. If A would count as a super predator, then so would Y.
Hi
Tyrannosaurus RexMember6270 XPAug-09-2013 10:05 AMIf Yang qualifies as a super predator, then it will still be minor in the movie, as T-Rex will be in the movie as well.

CompsognathusMember0 XPAug-09-2013 10:09 AMI guess it would be. But give them a pack and T. rex is dead.
Hi
CompsognathusMember0 XPAug-09-2013 10:11 AMWhy is T-rex always getting killed in your scenarios?
I still want to see some more pack hunting with the tyrannosaurs. Like in TLW.

Tyrannosaurus RexMember6270 XPAug-09-2013 10:12 AMIt would be a good fight, and it is possible for T-Rex to win. I doubt that Spielberg would have Rex killed by a minor predator, or at all.

CompsognathusMember0 XPAug-09-2013 10:13 AMOkay, I would like to see a Spinosaurus get killed by a pack of Giganotosaurus. Nobody can complain that that isn't how it would have gone and Giganotosaurus pack would have been killed by Spino.
Hi
CompsognathusMember0 XPAug-09-2013 10:15 AMOh, and to answer your question rex fan, the reason I have T. rex get killed is because it wouldn't stand a chance against large pack dinosaurs. I'm not a very big fan of T. rex either. Of course I'm not very big on Spino too.
Hi
Tyrannosaurus RexMember6270 XPAug-09-2013 10:16 AMI think one Giga would give Spino a lot of trouble, let alone two or three.
Anyone else remember my one idea with the Spino pair, with one getting killed by a pack of 3 Giga, the other running away.

CompsognathusMember0 XPAug-09-2013 10:18 AMI'm not talking about 2-3 Giganotosaurus, I'm talking about a sauropod killing 6-7.
Hi
Tyrannosaurus RexMember6270 XPAug-09-2013 10:21 AMThen nothing would stand a chance.
Lets focus on the intention of this discussion, Metriacanthosaurus/Yanchuanosaurus in Jurassic Park 4.

CompsognathusMember0 XPAug-09-2013 10:21 AMWell let's leave our biased opinions of which dinosaur is our favorite out of this shall we? That goes for everyone.
Trevorrow and Spielberg would never let T-rex get killed by a predator smaller than it. Spino was controversial enough. Even though a pack of Yangs/Metris are deadly, the general public would be even more miffed if they see something smaller than T-rex kill a T-rex. The disliked Spino for it, but at least Spino was in the same size class as T-rex. Metri/Yang are like what, half the weight, of T-rex? Get my point?

CompsognathusMember0 XPAug-09-2013 10:23 AMI do really want to see Yang on jp4. Its my second favorite dinosaur, what can you say. I would think it could be a nasty dinosaur that you wouldn't want to run into, and they do. It could kill someone, chase them around. Destroy a bit of stuff. And then get killed at the very end when T. rex saves the humans form it.
Hi
Tyrannosaurus RexMember6270 XPAug-09-2013 10:26 AMLike with Velociraptors in the first movie, but not as important. Give Rex it's hero moment in the movie, didn't see/don't remember if there was a Rex hero scene in the second movie, and Spino saved the people from the Carno in a way in the third.

CompsognathusMember0 XPAug-09-2013 10:27 AMThrowback to the first movie I see.

CompsognathusMember0 XPAug-09-2013 10:28 AMNot really. Remember, in the book, Carno was up by the second movie. Spino saved people from Cerato.
Hi
CompsognathusMember0 XPAug-09-2013 10:29 AMOh, and Carno was not in JP 3. It was Ceratosaurus.

Tyrannosaurus RexMember6270 XPAug-09-2013 10:31 AMHe was correcting me, not you. Carno and Cerato are close, and there are discussions for Carno not Cerato, so I didn't think about Cerato

CompsognathusMember0 XPAug-09-2013 10:35 AMBack to the Allosaurs. It would be cool to have a final dramatic fight at the end. Yang vs T. rex. Yang may be half as heavy, but is a hole lot faster. It was only 5 feet shorter too.
