As we all know many Dinosaur discoveries have been announced this year, in fact, some Paleontologists are saying that this is the golden age of Dinosaur discoveries. Though at the same time 2014 was a big slap in the face for Paleontologists, basically many things they though they knew about Dinosaurs were thrown ot the window and prooven wrong by nature itself. The biggest example is by far the new material of Spinosaurus, we thought all Theropods were bipedal, though the new material of Spinosaurus prooved this wrong. The finds in 2014 also solved many mysterys in the Dinosaur world. An example is Stromer's riddle, this has been a mystery for Paleontologists for over a century, though the new Spinosaurus material solves this. Another example is where were the early Ceratopsians in North America, Aquilops Americanus solves this mystery. 2 large Sauropods both of which were possibly the largest Dinosaur of all time to be discovered were announced (Dreadnoughtus and an unamed Titanosaur). We also found two Tyrannosaurs, one of which, Nanuqsaurus, was a dwarve Tyrannosaur that lived in the arctic. The other, Quianzhousaurus, had an unusual long snout. The largest Theropod Dinosaur in Europe was also announced, Torvosaurus Gurneyi, this Theropod possibly grew to the size of Tyrannosaurus Rex. Those are just a few of the many Dinosaur discoveries announced in 2014. On New years day I will post my top 10 Dinosaur discoveries of 2014, so stay tuned! Tell me below what your favorite Dinosaur discovery of 2014 was. Thanks!
