First off, no, this is not speculation for what's going to go down in the movie. This is what you think would go down if they were to encounter in a "natural" situation. I'll get into some specs.

T-Rex
Click for Options
Weight: 7-9 tons
Length: 11-14 metres
Height: 3-5 metres (don't quote me on that)
Speed: 32 KM/H
Bite force: 3-15 tons PSI (so I've heard), average 7-9 tons PSI
Vision: Binocular
Smell: Second best in fossil record
Arms: Short, end in two fingered hands
Body: Heavily muscled

I-Rex
Click for Options
Basing information off trailer and website, as well as assumptions based off DNA in her (Rugops, Majungasaurus, Carnotaurus, Giganotosaurus).

First off, she was designed to be bigger than T-Rex according to Wu I believe.

First off, "bigger" is a vague term. It could mean taller, it could mean longer it could mean heavier, it could mean any combination of the three. Hear me out on this, looking at its build, it isn't as muscled as T-Rex. At length parity, I believe T-Rex was heavier. This is speculation

Weight: 8-10 tons full grown
Length: Currently 12 metres according to site, likely 13-14 metres full grown
Height: Probably 3-4 metres, likely 5 metres full grown
Speed: 50 KM/H
Bite force: 3-5 tons PSI
Vision: Similar to Tarbosaurus, slightly binocular
Smell: Most likely pretty good, but not T-Rex good
Arms: Large with elongated middle finger
Body: Fairly Allosaurian, built more for agility, not brute strength. Skull similar to Abelisaur

I-Rex

Advantages:

Heavier
Possibly more agile
Larger arms
Possible camouflage ability

Disadvantages:

Likely not as tough
Lack of depth perception can be hinderance
Higher cent of gravity

T-Rex

Advantages:

Higher bite force
Likely tougher
Better vision
Likely just as strong
Lower centre of gravity

Disadvantages:

Possibly lighter
Less agile
Small arms
No camouflage, though smell could cancel out camo

Let's try to be calm. If you disagree, don't hesitate to post what you disagree with. I'm sure everyone has their own theories on I-Rex, so don't give me crap because my theory doesn't line up with yours.

I'd say this fight to be 50-50, maybe 45-55 either way.

You're speaking as though it's fact.

"Yea I think I-Rex is heavier. So it is bigger."

That is speaking as though what you think is fact. Something a bit more suitable to say would be:

"Yeah, I think I-Rex is heavier, so I think it's bigger."

It's alright. No ones perfect. I worded it the wrong way.

It happens. I know you worded it wrong, but some people reading may not be able to figure it out.

Now I am just going to read all the other comments :D

Here's a breakdown, thinking of this tactical wise.

The I-Rex is likely not as heavy. The pictures show a more streamlined body build. I'm guessing a solid 7 tons as opposed to the Tyrannosaur's 9. This is makes it easier to push around I-Rex.

The weapons of both are negated by each other. The thumbs won't help much, but the nasty claws of Indominus are probably the biggest weapon. However, the jaws of I-Rex are most likely better for leaving small, slashed wounds. The Rex could most likely withstand it. The Rex doesn't have claws worth crap, but jaws strong enough to decapitate the hybrid.

Remember, about the camo, the sense of smell might negate that, along with if the T-Rex gets a bite in. The bite can't camoflauge, leaving an exposed visible area.

I would say I-Rex: 60% of the time.

I believe that 'larger' here means longer, taller and heavier. I don't think T.rex has got any advantage in terms of size.

@Gigadino, Paleontologists use weight to determine size. Not height or length.

Yes, I'm aware of that. In fact I wrote 'here'. I meant that when JW guys say that I-rex is larger, they mean that it's longer, taller and heavier.

I am still of the opinnion of theI-Rex most of the time, and I think she is heavier, but in theovie we will get what I want, Rexy kicking ass!

I should say we all let Rexy wins the battle between her and Indominus Rex 'cause she's the queen of Jurassic World. Does anyone agree with me?

More like the Queen of Nublar.

This is a very evenly matched fight IMO. T.rex would have the bulkier, more powerful build, far more powerful bone crushing bite and better 3d stereoscopic vision. It is likely heavier too based on the proportion of I Rex. I.Rex would probably be taller, longer and lighter in weight due to a more raptor like build, those arms are the biggest advantage it has. I can see I rex grappling, slashing, and climbing on T.rex a lot of the time using them arms. However one good bite from the T.rex should end Irex's life or majorly crippling it. And with the brute strength and bulky build of T.rex, it can definitely have a chance of winning. SO 55/45 to Rexy.

I would like to argue that the I Rex does not have came. If it were to be an theme park attraction then the scientist would want people to easily see it. If it could camp while it's in it's cage, then people couldn't see it making it a useless attraction. with this in mind, if it were to fight a trex, the trex would easily be able to see the I rex. I believe if the I rex were too fight the trex, it would wait until the trex is at a huge disadvantage (injured maybe). Also the I rex might also have to worry about the suchomimus. Overall I think if the ores and trex were in good condition and fought each other ipwithout any interference, the trex would win.

I see these arguments and lots of it is just favoritism. A true JP fan would honestly despise the irex. trex is the main star of the whole series. but the facts you guys get that irex is bigger? Not really. Maybe longer but shes not a heavyweight. the site states both animals as 40ft. Rexy is bigger than that. Original information from the first movie stated rexy was 42 feet. Shes huge. And after 22 more years living on the island shes probably grown. But if anything rexy will win. The fanbase would be incredibly pissed if irex killed her meaning the movie would get shitty ratings just like JP3. And whoever said irex was like the vrex from King kong thats definitly not a good comparison. the vrex in that movie were 79 to 80 ft in length and 25 feet tall like kong.

Every time I go to a fan site, there are people hating on I-Rex and rooting for T-Rex to win.  The stocky guy thinks T-Rex is stocky like him while I-Rex is faster but lacking in muscle like his friend.  Shouldn't we see what I-Rex looks like first?  The movie likely will go in that same direction, since the director has proclaimed it to be the T-Rex's "Unforgiven."  That will please the fans.  But not being a T-Rex or I-Rex groupie, I have to say for me a T-Rex win would belie the promise of the trailer.  If your whole pitch is "bigger, louder, more teeth," then it's anticlimactic when "smaller, quieter, fewer teeth" from 22 years ago ends up winning anyway in the end.  Why set up this big hoopla if the monster from 22 years ago was better all along?  And by the way, I don't get the moralizing either.  There's no "nature vs. abomination" here.  These are dinosaurs created in a lab in the 20th and 21st centuries -- none of them are "nature."  Nor was T-Rex ever meant to be a model citizen.  If I-Rex is mean, so is T-Rex.  The point is to have a cool, scary monster, not a boy scout.

Tyrannosaurus RexMember6270 XPMay-25-2015 5:49 PM

Not gonna lie, what I hate most about the whole T-Rex vs I-Rex thing is the general "I-Rex is a hybrid so it would win every time, but because it's a movie the T-Rex is totally going to win to make T-Rex fanboys happy" BS. It may not be worded exactly like that, but that's basically what it is. It's one thing if you're speculating, but it's a completely different thing if you're just saying "I-Rex would win because it's a hybrid with this this and this".

Indominus will win because she has tougher hide more teeth she is faster and more agile she has longer arms and

she is highly intellegant.

Steven Lewis

CompsognathusMember0 XPSep-22-2015 10:21 PM

why does everyone here say the trex is heavier? The Indominus is quite a bit heavier even when not fully grown. So when fully grown it'll be much much heavier, will be longer, and much taller seeing as it is already 18ft tall. I Rex wins this battle every time it has superior senses, speed, agility, weight, strength, size, intelligence, and aggression.

Actually, I don't believe bigger equals heavier on all occasions. The main reason of this would be muscle mass. What I'm saying is despite an animal (or dinosaur) that looks larger in size than another, it may not have as much muscle, which would more then likely put on more weight. Since this is the same case with the Indominus Rex, I estimate her weight as 5 tons.

Just saying but I-Rex would wreck t-rex for starters it can camouflage and go basically invisible it is also smart enough to remember where it's tracker was put in it can take a hit from a stinger missile its part raptor so it can run like a b***h it was made in a lab it can take down a whole herd of Argentinosaurs can take bullet hits and it is worth $29 million dollars so who how's what else was plonked in it.

Damn as much as I love Tyrannosaurus, I would have to go with Indominus.

She has Rugop's armored skin, T. rex's bite force, Therizinosaurus arms, Giganotosaurus's size, Carnotaurus's horns, Majungosaurus's ummmm cannablistic behavior? a cuttle fish's camouflage, a pit viper's ability to cover its heat signature, and the Velociraptor's cunning
