So, as the title says, this is a question I have about Jurassic World. It's also (kind of) a plothole.

In Jurassic World, the Indominus rex communicates with the raptors and convinces them to attack the humans. Eventually, Rexy and Blue team up to take out the Indominus rex. HOWEVER, near the beginning of the film, Claire says the Indominus rex's base genome is the Tyrannosaurus rex. This means the I. rex has Tyrannosaurus (along with raptor) DNA.

Now, we go back to her communicating with the raptors. She was able to communicate with the raptors because she had raptor DNA. This leads to the question- why didn't she try to communicate with Rexy? She had Tyrannosaurus DNA, and didn't attempt to talk to Rexy (maybe Rexy didn't listen to her)? If you can answer this, please do. :)

That's a really good question. I think it was more of a "territorial" type thing. Or the "Who is the "queen" of the dinosaurs " type thing.

SCI-FI KING25 - You have definately posed a very interesting question! I have a feeling that the reason the I. rex did not communicate with the T. rex is becasue the T. rex lacks an advanced form of communication comprable to that of the velociraptors. In short, the T. rex is not as sophisticated an animal as the raptors. Of course, this is simply my conjecture and supposition - it could very well be that the T. rex simply wanted nothing to do with the I. rex's attempts to chat and chose open combat instead! :)

Well from how it seems in the Jurassic park it's stated that T. rex was a sole predator, and didn't hunt in packs (well according to the movies) so I guess the I rex wouldn't try to communicate with the T. rex to help him...

I thought it was simply becuase Rexy came out roaring and attacked, so I-Rex saw her as a threat. Or stated above, didn't live in packs or not sophisticated enough.

My friend Hannah said that it's because T-Rexes are stupider than I-Rexes.

ahm, I Guess the part that gave origin to the phonetic system of the I rex, comes from the raptor's genetic input.

In the movie they show that each feature of the hybrid comes from an specific animal; otherwise not involving the fact of every single feature of each animal being displayed in the body of the hybrid.

The world will spin well past our last breath, but I will always care about you

JEANETTE_CHUNG - Harsh, but true. T. rex simply is not as advanced. :)

I think it was a combo of 2 things.

First, that I.rex maybe COULDN'T communicate with Rexy, or wasn't able to communicate well enough.  I'm willing to bet that JP T.rexes used more body language than sounds, and their sounds are nothing like I.rex.  Her roars were scratchy, irritating, and too high-pitched for an animal of her size to properly communicate with T.rex.

Second, Rexy presented herself with a lot of aggression.  I.rex just saw an animal similar to her size that could fight just as viciously as her, and simply saw Rexy as the only adversary that could put fear in her heart.

Actually,

A real Tyrannosaurus Rex was one of the most advanced predators the world has ever seen. It's brain was incredibly developed and it was capable of complex thought so, it most likely is that she didn't want to have anything to do with it.

Good grief.

Because territorial or maybe because I-rex sounds nothing like a T-rex.
