126 Million years after Tarnoc and Juta and their offspring, Theropod evolution has since diversified beyond Dilophosaurids and Coelophysoids, the early Tetanurae (Stiff Tails) of their day would later become the dominate type of theropod while the only non-Tetanurae left are decedents the Abelisauruses. Along side the Theropods; the sauropods, the ornithopods, the Thyreophora, and the Marginocephalia also have changed with in that time spanned and now we reached our intended destination.
The same familiar sun arose, casting its light on an all too familiar world. The Continents may of changed as well as its inhabitants but this is still the same earth. North America traveled further northward away from South America, South America has since broken away from Africa, Antarctica is almost at its future position at the south pole while barley holding on to its partner continent Australia, Europe is still just scattered islands while Asia is become more like modern Asia, India now free from Antarctica and Africa is traveling ever so northward towards Asia. There is no Ice Caps either.
The Late Cretaceous - Maastrichtian
Region: North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, and Montana.
Location: Hellcreek
Sounds of footsteps can be felt shaking the earth, a herd of Triceratops stop grazing as the adults immediately turn their tails towards their offspring while they walk back enough not to accidentally step on them as the adults form a circle around the defenseless babies using their shield-like heads to permit any carnivore stupid enough to get close to them. The Trees shake, some of the elderly triceratops begin to get nervous as an all too familiar form erupts from the sea of trees. Three functional toes; the fourth toe is off the ground vestigial and just hangs from the foot, two powerful legs, a long stiff tail, two strong tiny arms ending with two fingers, a powerful neck to support its bonecrushing jaws filled to the brim with banana shaped teeth, and on top of its head two forward eyes with great binocular vision; Tyrannosaurus rex, tyrant reptile king. She was not alone, with her was another equally large Tyrannosaurus who was her mate; we will call them Regina and Gorg respectively.
The matriarch of the Triceratops herd bellowed as she swung her horns around to intimidate the tyrannosauruses. The other Triceratopses began to do the same, Regina and Gorg carefully walked around the organized triceratops circle looking for an opening but from they could tell, the triceratops have a solid defense. Regina bellowed at the subadult Triceratops hoping to scare a few them out of their posts but the Matriarch stomps her foot to maintain order in her herd. The Tyrannosauruses though hungry decided that it wasn't worth getting injured, Regina turned her gaze to a herd of Edmontosaurus, she lead her mate towards this new bounty of food while the Triceratopses still kept formation, waited for the two beasts to leave the area... but as soon as they returned to grazing a Dakotaraptor sprinted out and snagged away one of the baby triceratops.
Very nice start! Just to tell you, I'm sure you know, the fourth vestigial claw is called a dewclaw.
Good grief.

GorillaGodzilla: Yeah, I wasn't sure if that's what it was called or not. Thanks for clarifying. The Hypetrain is coming through!
XENOTARIS - How very neat! I very much enjoy your viewpoint on the animals you have presented! Please continue to share your thought-provoking and interesting work with us! :)
nice!
Dinosaurs incredible creatures who roamed the Earth 65 million years ago. Never had nature been filled with so much terror and beauty...
Regina hid behind a large rock formation while Gorg moved behind the herd of Edmontosauruses. Gorg roared, alerting the Edmontosauruses to his presence and as planned they bolted away from his direction. Regina who was hiding behind a large rock formation was now in biting distance to the herd, then she bolted out of her hiding spot, her jaws like a bear-trap clamped down onto an Edmontosaurus'es neck. The Edmontosaurus struggles and groans for a brief moment before it was all over, its herd ignores its pleas as they were focused on their own survival. Gorg now caught up to his mate delivered the second bite to the Edmontosaurus'es hind leg. The crushing bite force of both tyrannosauruses made short work off the hadrosaur.
Regina dropped the Edmontosaurus as it fell lifeless to the ground. She walked over to the herbivore's belly, she used her sharp teeth to tear into its guts while her mate seemed to be settled on eating the hadrosaur's legs. A pair of Dakotaraptors were waiting eagerly for the tyrannosauruses to finish so they could dine on the hadrosaur carcass but they were not alone as a velociraptorine Acheroraptors began to flock to the carcass. Gorg bellowed at the scavengers, so they kept their distance until the rexes were done.
Nice!

"Part of the journey is the end..."
XENOTARIS - How fantastic! I am very much looking forward to the next segment! :)
After they had their fill, Gorg and Regina abandoned the carcass as they retired in the dense forests. The scavengers quickly flocked to the dead edmontosaurus, their story is left for another time (Possible Daily Life of a Dakotaraptor?). Regina and her mate returned to their nest, four juvenile tyrannosauruses poke their heads out of the underbrush.
We will name them Fast Foot, Snapper, Little Claw, and Nimble. Fast Foot was very eager to meet up with her mother so much she quickly left her siblings in the dust, Snapper snapped his jaws agitated as literal dust blew in to his eyes, Little Claw being the shortest of his siblings sneezed as the dust blew in to his nose, while Nimble careful leaped away from the dust cloud her sister made.
Mother Regina regurgitated some of the Edmontosaurus from earlier to feed her hungry children, followed by their father Gorg. The juvenile tyrannosauruses feed on the regurgitated meat but this would be the last time their parents would be delivering their meals, now the time has come for them to hunt their food but for now their parents lied down to rest...hunting will start tomorrow. The siblings have an entire day to play before then, the siblings take turn play hunting their other siblings.
Nice

sorry for the hiatus, I'll be getting back to finish this story soon
Fast Foot raced around her sleeping parents as she plays predator vs prey with her siblings. She took dead at Little Claw who wasn't quite nimble as his other siblings, Fast Foot playfully nipped him on the back of the neck while tackling him to the ground while Snapper burst out a nearby bush to challenge Fast Foot's "kill" while Nimble leaped out from behind her mother's tail and tackled both Snapper and Fast Foot.
Nearby a three hungry Acheroraptors were approaching dangerously close to the nest, like its Mongolian cousin the velociraptor was small about the size of a golden retriever. We name them: Archie, Betty, and Veronica. Archie wanted the two females to follow his lead but Veronica snapped him in to submission as she lead them closer to the baby Tyrannosauruses. Veronica was about to lay her talons on to Little Claw before she felt the ground shake and then heard a distressful cry, nearby Betty was being carried in Regina's mouth.
^Savage chapter, looking forward to the next.
"Part of the journey is the end..."
Archaeoraptors were native to China, I think you mean Acheroraptor. Correct?
Good grief.
Totally fine man, that's what the edit button is for xD.
Good grief.
my next project will either be a Smilodon, Dakotaraptor, and/or a Jurassic Park related story.
Okay, that will be my next project along side the promised Cave Lion
Cool one Xeno!
Dinosaurs incredible creatures who roamed the Earth 65 million years ago. Never had nature been filled with so much terror and beauty...
Betty the acheroraptor was gobbled up by the female Tyrannosaur, Veronica dashed away from Little Claw as she avoided Regina's watchful gaze. Little Claw groaned for his father after picking up Veronica's scent. The female Acheroraptor chirped for her mate but he didn't answer, not wanting to chance standing around much longer the Veronica fled the rex's nest. Gorg was surveying the perimeter when he found his offspring Snapper and Fast Foot fighting over a dead Acheroraptor they jointly killed, it was Archie.
Nice chapter Xeno! Also long time no see friend ;).
