Yes... the classic battle... a tale as old as time itself (not really tho XD)... I'm actually "early" for once, I think... at a certain point I did a fight/topic every 4 days, but who knows if this counts. Oh my god my computer sucks and I just posted by accident!!!! OOF!!! Anyways, LET THEM FIGHT!!!! (That is now and forever what I'm going to start my fights with... DEAL WITH IT XD)
The herd travels through the Great Plains. They're surrounded by literal tons of grasses, ferns, and other types of vegetation. For now though, they will feed on the various horsetails along the banks of the Diamond Spray River. However, unbeknownst to them, they are being stalked by an immense predator with an incredible bite force. A large predator with dark green scales and brown stripes and spots. However, one member of the herd knows something is wrong. The same individual who has led this herd for literal generations and saved it from danger many times over the course of his life. The 36 foot long, 8 ton bull Triceratops looks into the water his massive herd is drinking from. The black scaled, red frilled, horned, and quilled alpha peers closer into the water, and notices a very large, lumpy log slowly floating towards one of the sub adults of the herd. Realizing the danger, Thunder sprints towards his child, and bounds into the shallows and bellows at the seemingly innocent log. However, before it arrives the log seems to attach itself to the young male, and breaks its leg, and apparently tugging its leg, as if though to rip it off. Thunder reaches the scene and kicks the log in the part attached to his child. The log opens at its front and releases a loud hiss. The Purussaurus snaps towards Thunder, but Thunder begins to sprint towards it and bites onto its snout with an incredibly bite force. However, before he can cause any real damage, the Purussaurus break free and heads for deeper water. Thunder decides to leave the creature be and heads back to join his herd. The herd sticks around for another 10 minutes or so to feed, now keeping a much more careful eye on their juveniles and on the water. Soon though, they leave, as per the instruction of Thunder. They go at their normal pace, but now Thunder's child is lagging behind, because of his broken and bleeding leg. Thunder notices, and although most herds would leave him behind, Thunder doesn't. He orders his herd to slow down to let his son catch up, but it does also have the side benefit of lessening the pain from his arthritis. The herd continues at this pace for days, slowly moving through the plains. Every few weeks they stop at a place to rest, and then start up again a week later to keep going through a certain path they always follow. The path is large enough that when they reach their new destination, the fast growing grasses and ferns of the plains they had just left are beginning to grow back. It's a constant loop that takes about 2 months for a full rotation, and about 2 weeks to reach eat stop at each quarter. It's relatively safe, besides the river they just passed, and is mostly quite tranquil. However, there is one place that they pass through at least twice every cycle that is much more dangerous than the Diamond River. The place with the most dangerous predator the herd has ever known, the place where multiple members have lost their lives. Soon, they reach the Dark Rain Forest. It's so named because it seems to be perpetually dark, and because of the thick rain constantly pouring into the forests. It isn't really a true rain forest, it contains vegetation from temperate forests where the rain is slightly lighter and plants and trees from true rain forests in the East where the rain is slightly heavier. In the center, this is some slight intermingling of the two types of vegetation, but not much. Due to this, there is a wide variety of fauna of spread across the forests, enough to rival the species count of the Vivid Forests in the far East. However, this isn't any problem to the Triceratops herd. No, the problem is one individual predator that has lived in the temperate Western side of the forest. The largest predator that the herd has seen in generations, and their most powerful enemy. Luckily for the herd though, the predator is nowhere to be found. Unfortunately for them, the notorious rains of the forests have come back with a vengeance, stronger than ever and so dense that one can not see more than 30 feet in front of them. It's made even worse by the fact that they're in one of the darkest forests in the world in the dead of night. Since his son is now the weakest member of the herd and the visibility is so low, Thunder makes his way closer to the back to be with his son, the second oldest male left in the herd. He walks along with him, the two quietly calling to one another to communicate, checking up on one another. However, their little "talk" is cut out by an incredibly loud roar, one incredibly close and familiar roar since none of the Triceratops can see far and the roar was so close, they all panic and run in different directions. Thunder, forgetting his son's injuries, runs off to try and bring order back to the herd. However, as he's beginning to bring his herd back together, he gets a sinking feeling in his stomach. He has a strong urge to run to back and to his left, so he does so, guided purely by his instinct. He sprints faster and faster as his feeling of dread intensifies. Finally, he breaks into a very small clearing between the trees, barely able to hold 5 Triceratops practically being crumpled into one another like paper. The sight he sees is one that will haunt him for the rest of his life. His blood covered son, barely breathing, lying on the floor with a giant, three toed foot placed on his side and a set of enormous jaws placed on his neck. Thunder roars in rage and fear. The tyrant before him looks up at him and roars back, accepting his challenge. Thunder sprints towards the familiar, battle scarred Tyrannosaurus before him, attempting to ram his horns through its chest...
A herd of Triceratops travels through this apex predator's territory. This 46 foot long, 8 ton, black scaled and red feathered tyrant can see quite far, despite the poor viewing conditions that gives his home its name. Since he has lived here for a considerable portion of his long life here, he can see much farther than the Triceratops here. Still not extremely well, but Lightning can see them much more easily than they can see him, and he uses this to his advantage. For the past 14 years he has been in a constant struggle with the alpha of the Triceratops herd. They both have hefty amounts of scars as reminders of their battles. However, Lightning has learned how to avoid the alpha, and hasn't had to deal with him in nearly 4 years. What he does is that he roars to get the herd panicking, close enough to sound right next to them, but far away enough that they, and more importantly the alpha, can't see him. Then, as they all run away and as the alpha tries to get everyone back together, he brings down his target. He sees a very easy target; a sub adult with a broken leg. The problem is, the alpha is right next to his prey. No matter, his near fool proof method will get rid of the alpha. He lets out a mighty roar, sending the herd into panic. The Triceratops run every which way, and the alpha goes off chasing them. The prey starts quickly limping away, into a very small clearing nearby. Lightning sprints up and knocks his prey to the ground. He tries to get a bite into his prey's neck, but it surprisingly manages to bash its frill into hid head. He stumbles back, and it gets to its feet. It begins to "charge" him, but he simply plants his powerful foot between its eyes, knock its frill aside, and clamps onto its neck while driving it to the floor. The bloodied prey is knocked out from the blow, and is now an easy meal. Lightning is about to finish it off when he hears an all too familiar bellow. He looks up to see the alpha staring at him. He roars back to his rival, and the alpha begins to charge him.

Lightning dodges Thunder's charge, but Thunder expected this and bucks his horns towards Lightning. However, Lightning has seen this maneuver many times and easily dodges that as well, and then rams into Thunder's side. However, the alpha isn't as easily knocked over as his son, and only stumbles. He whirls around to face his attacker and bucks towards him. Lightning dodges most of it, but still gets a shallow, but long gash across his left side. He roars in pain, but then backs up, seeing a tree behind him. Thunder charges him, as Lightning expected, and moves to his right, careful with how he steps. Thunder isn't going to fall for such a simple move, due to his decades of experience, and turns to follow him. However, what he didn't see was the tree root sticking out of the ground that was the actual part of Lightning's plan. Thunder trips over the tree root and crashes to the ground. Lightning sprints up and gets a quick clamp onto Thunder's neck. Thunder bashes his large skull into Lightning's head. Lightning stumbles back and Thunder gets up. As Lightning recovers, Thunder charges him. Lightning dodges last second, but isn't fast enough and his leg gets caught between Thunder's horn. In most cases, his leg would have been broken as Thunder keeps going. However, somehow they are both at the exact right angle that it sends both of them to the ground, partially spinning them both in a less than graceful manner. Thunder gets up faster and clamps onto Lightning's leg. Lightning roars in pain and fights him off, now with a partially injured leg. Thunder then tries to gore Lightning with his horns. Lightning doesn't notice until right before he would have been gored. He kicks Thunder with all his might right between his eyes, but he his horns still partially embed in Lightning's abdomen. Lightning roars in agony as he pushes Thunder off. He slowly gets to his feet and begins to limp off, but Thunder charges him again. Lightning roars and dodges again and kicks him in the side with his good leg, but his good leg goes out and he lands on top of Thunder, breaking some of Thunder's ribs. As Lightning quickly gets up, he realizes that this battle will be to the death. Thunder won't let him leave this time. Thunder wants to end the threat once and for all, so his herd won't have to deal with it when he's gone. Thunder gets up and charges his herd's killer, but Lightning dodges again and backs up. The two roar at each other. On Thunder's third roar, a rare clap of thunder rings throughout the forest, and a strike of lightning strikes a nearby tree. Due to the rain dissipating (for once), the fire begins to grow rapidly instead of being instantly put out. Soon, a ring of fire forms around the clearing, as if to make way for the three creatures within it. Thunder bucks at Lightning, but he dodges and clamps onto his frill. As Thunder tries to escape his grip, he puts more and more power into his bite until... CRUNCH!!!! Lightning backs up with a crushed piece of Thunder's frill in his jaws. He lets the fragment of Thunder's skull fall to the ground as Thunder snarls in pain. Thunder charges Lightning in a last desperate attempt to kill the seemingly unkillable tyrant. Lightning attempts to dodge again, as usual, but doesn't notice the unconscious prey next to him and nearly fall over when trying to dodge in that direction. Realizing his situation, and Thunder's horns about to pierce him, Lightning can only try to make him self smaller and get into an angle where he minimizes the damage. Somehow, Lightning lodges himself between Thunder's horns by forcing his body to be in an unbalanced, more vertical posture where his toes barely touch the ground, and sucking in his gut. However, due to Lightning's bulk, Thunder's horns still pierce through his sides, mainly pointing away from his body, but still cutting through a small portion of his body. The pain is agonizing, but Thunder didn't pierce through anything vital. In pure fear, Thunder starts running again, able to push the unbalance and trapped Tyrannosaur much more easily than usual. He keeps running, not noticing the fire in front of him. Thunder and Lightning shoot into the fire, arriving deep into the fire. For a good few moments, Thunder keeps running, still somehow not yet noticing the flames coating his body. Lightning is in pure agony, and in order to escape, he stops supporting his own weight, the sudden increase in weight sending Thunder into the ground. From this position, Lightning can finally dislodge himself from Thunder's skull. However, once he does so, Thunder bashes his skull into Lightning's own with all his might, sending the creature toppling to the ground. Lightning doesn't get up again. Thunder finally realizes where he is and sprints out of the flames, somehow finding his way back to the clearing. Finally, the notorious rain has returned and quickly puts out the flames coating his body and begins to put out the fire as it picks up. However, the fire has grown large enough that it will take at least a good few minutes for it to be put out. Thunder walks over to his unconscious son and plops down next to him, but winces in pain after feeling his singed scales touch the ground. However, he takes satisfaction in knowing he finally killed the creature that has plagued his herd for over a decade. As he begins to lie down to sleep, he hears plants rustling. Then he hears a telltale thudding sound. He gets up and stares into the fire where he hears the sounds coming from. No, it can't be possible. The sounds get louder and louder as the source comes closer and closer at a faster pace. Soon it sounds as if though it's right inside the wall of fire. Suddenly the sounds stop for a few moments. Maybe it was all his imagination. He stares into the fire, not hearing or seeing any signs of life. However, after a few moments, he can almost swear he can see a pair of glowing, red eyes in the fire. Suddenly, a giant, flaming figure bursts from the fire and clamps onto his horn. It easily breaks his horn with its incredible bite force. It then knocks his frill away with its head, grabs him by his frill with its jaws, and practically throws him to the ground. The heavy rain quickly puts out the fire covering Lightning, saving him from certain death. Thunder gets back up and tries to charge him, but Lightning dodges and rams him full force in his side. Thunder is knocked to the ground from the force. Lightning sinks his teeth into Thunder's exposed neck, and puts his full force into it. He isn't quite able to break Thunder's neck, but rips out most of the flesh in his neck. Thunder tries to bellow in pain, and to warn his herd, but his vocal chords have been severed. He can only gasp for air as he bleeds to death. Lightning now has a massive feast, and Thunder's son limps away, in utter shock that his father died.
The new alpha leads his herd at a slow pace, due to his injury. Somehow he managed to bring the herd back together the night before without the help of his father. Having a basic idea of what happened, the herd excepts him as the alpha due to him being the eldest son by a few years. However, if he doesn't heal soon, his younger brothers may challenge him and win. That's not even his biggest problem. Can he protect his herd from the Tyrannosaurus when they inevitably meet him again? This question presses his mind as a titanic, burnt predator casually watches the herd from the forest line...
Winner: Tyrannosaurus!!! I mean, Tyrannosaurus would have largely preyed on Triceratops, and an older individual, such as Lightning, would have a lot of experience hunting and killing Triceratops. Of course an alpha Triceratops (whether they were males or females or however their herds operated, if they even lived in herds larger than a small family group) would be much harder to kill than the average Triceratops, if for no reason other than experience and age/size.
I did it and fixed it!!! AND I FINISHED IT 2 MINUTES BEFORE JULY 4TH IS OVER (in my time zone, at least)!!!! Not really important, but kinda nice... sorry for accidentally breaking it first time around!!!
Next Time On RFWRF (Random Fish Writes Random Fights): Tyrannosaurus V.S. Torvosaurus!!!!! (Yeah, I know, using Tyrannosaurus twice in a row... WHATEVER!!!!!)

You make a good point. It really depends of how much hunting experience the Trex has had over its lifetime. But then again it could’ve easily gone the other way around for triceratops.
Yeah, like if a fresh out of the nest Tyrannosaurus was against Thunder, it very easily would have been in Thunder's favor.

There's going to be a few week delay on the next fight due to travel, sorry!
