Daily dose of EDB,EDB stands for epic dinosaur battles. This is the 6th battle of the 2nd season.

Information about Albeltrosaurus:

Albertosaurus is a dinosaur which walked the Earth approximately 76 million years ago during the Mesozoic Period. It is a typical tyrannosaurus therapod dinosaur and has many features that qualify it as this type of dinosaur. Some of the features include carnivorous behavior, bipedal movement on back legs, tiny front arms, hollow bones like a bird and the ability to move very swiftly and with dangerous precision.

This dinosaur was first discovered in what is now Alberta, Canada in 1884 by J.B. Tyrrell. These remains would be named in 1905 by Henry Fairfield Osborn. Since Alberta had just became a Canadian province on September 1, 1905, it seems suitable that Mr. Osborn would name this dinosaur Albertosaurus; a name which literally means “lizard of Alberta.”

Although this dinosaur had many features of it genus—a tyrannosaurus theropod—it also had some key differences that made it quite different from the typical Tyrannosaurus. For instance, its skull was quite a bit thinner than the typical tyrannosaurus and its teeth weren’t as well adapted for crushing bone as a tyrannosaurus. Some scientists believe that Albertosaurus had a bite like the Kimono Dragon. A bite that would pass on a septic infection to whatever it bit. This dinosaur was approximately 30 feet long, 11 feet tall at the hips and weighed as much as 3 tons. It also had 15 razor sharp top teeth and 20 bottom teeth.

Information about Deinonychus:

Deinonychus is a dinosaur which lived about 115 million years ago during the Cretaceous Period. It was first discovered in 1931 near the town of Billings, Montana by Barnum Brown. Since then, fossils have been found in parts of Wyoming and Oklahoma as well. It’s name translates to “terrible claw”. A reference to the large claw that is on the back of this dinosaur’s hind foot.

When Deinonychus lived, it could reach a hip height of 3 feet, a length of 12 feet and a weight of approximately 150-160 pounds. The similarity of this dinosaur to a modern bird caused scientists to develop the theory that birds are indeed descendants of dinosaurs. A theory that was first postulated during the late 1960s.

It is believed by some scientists that these dinosaurs actually did have feathers like modern birds. Although there is no solid proof that Deinonychus had feathers, the finding of Velociraptor feathers may be enough proof to postulate that these dinosaurs also had feathers.

What is known about these dinosaurs however, is they had all the tools they needed to be aggressive predators. Not only did they have a bite force which was probably a little less than a modern crocodile, but they also had those formidable razor sharp claws on their hind feet. More than likely, these claws were used to inflict deep stab wounds on its prey.

An interesting thing to not about these dinosaurs is that they resemble the Velociraptors in the movie Jurassic Park more than real Velociraptors did. In real life, Velociraptors were turkey sized dinosaurs. However, in the movie they are portrayed more like the size and speed of Deinonychus. In fact, the special effects team of the movie has admitted they modeled their dinosaurs after Deinonychus.

Some scientists have postulated that these dinosaurs probably preyed on Tenontosaurus as a food source. If that is the case, then that brings up some interesting scenarios. For instance, Tenontosaurus weighed over 2 tons, and this dinosaur only weighed 160 pounds. Which means, that if they did indeed hunt these animals, then they would have had to have done it in packs.

Let the battle begin!

A roar is heard in the snowy mountains? Is it from the T-Rex?Or from the Giganotosaurus? No,its from the apex predator of the area,it is named Albeltrosaurus and it is eating a stegosaurus it hunted, but the food attracts peculiar smaller predators to appear.

Those predators are a pack of Deinonychus, the Alberto spots the pack and roars at it to intimidate the pack so they can leave,it doesn't seem to work and the pack charges at him.

There were 3 Deinonychus in the pack and the leader of it charges for the head and the other 2 for the legs, the Alberto smacks one of them with his tail which leads to a critical head injury for the pack member, the leader is bitten in the neck and is being shaken around by the Alberto until it dies from blood loss, the remaining 2 are still alive but the one with a critical head injury starts to flee, the other pack member is easily killed and eaten by the Alberto.

After that, the Alberto begins to chase the last member of the pack, the Deinonychus managed to sneak through the trees and the Alberto is chasing after it.Until the Deinonychus gets to a dead end where it only can jump to its death, due to there being an end to a cliff infront of it.The Alberto catches up and bites the Deinonychus by the tail and throws it off the cliff.

Winner:Albeltrosaurus

Reason:Its basically a smaller version of the rex,and it can demolish a heck lot of Deinonychus.
